Part-time Lecturer, Computer Engineering
Primary Purpose and Essential Functions:
The School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of the Pacific invites applications for an adjunct (part-time) faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering beginning in January 2025. The primary responsibility of this position is to teach an upper-division course in microcontrollers or embedded systems during the Spring 2025 semester, including the following specific activities:
- Manage all aspects of the course, including the development of course plan, development of assignments, grading of student work, and submission of grades. A comprehensive set of materials from previous offerings of the course will be available.
- Conduct three weekly classroom sessions in-person on the Stockton campus.
- Conduct one weekly lab session in-person on the Stockton campus.
- Collect student performance assessment data.
- Hold regular office hours to support students.

Minimum Qualifications:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of microcontrollers, embedded systems, or related devices, and their applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Experience teaching at an accredited university or college.
- Proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using a computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Work is performed during standard hours; Additional hours may be required to meet business needs or deadlines.
