
Job Description: Curriculum development and teaching assigned subjects geared toward first-generation college-bound high school students to prepare students to achieve educational attainment, college readiness, and other goals set forth by the Upward Bound grant program.

The mission of the University is to prepare a diverse population of lifelong learners intellectually, socially, spiritually, and personally through providing interactive services and using varied modalities of instructional delivery. About the Role: This position requires a part-time 8-month commitment to teaching in-person once a month on Saturday from September to April. Qualifications/Requirements: ? Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred) ? 2 years of teaching experience, preferably at a secondary level ? Experience working with students from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds Responsibilities: ? Ability to teach multiple-level courses within respected fields of study. ? Develop and implement the curriculum in the appropriate STEM and Foreign Language subject area. ? Create a positive learning environment that enhances student learning. ? Monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments. ? Work with Upward Bound staff to promote overall student achievement. ? Ability to work independently, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to various situations. ? Develop and deliver a flexible, student-centered course of instruction that satisfies Upward Bound objectives. ? Serve as a role model/mentor for Upward Bound students.
