Salary Range: Up to $85,000- $95,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours: Full-time fixed-term track, 6 - 3 Credit Hour Courses (3/3) or equivalent, exempt.
Period of Appointment: September 1, 2025 - May 31, 2028. Contingent upon funding, appointment could begin in August 2025.

Essential Functions
Job description
This is an open full-time, fixed term track (FTT) position at the level of an Assistant or Associate Professor of Instruction at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering (BECE) at the University of Texas at San Antonio. The FTT is expected to contribute to the teaching duties of the Chemical Engineering (CME) Program mainly and occasionally to the Biomedical Engineering (BME) program. Successful hire is expected to teach a variety of courses including but not limiting to chemical engineering design sequence courses (CME 4103 Process Dynamics and Control and CME 4264 Plant Design), the chemical engineering laboratories I and II (CME 3601 and CME 4201), Transport Phenomena II (CME 3703), biotransport laboratories (BME 3711), and an elective that utilizes the pilot-size distillation column. The FTT's teaching schedule maybe altered based on departmental needs. The hire will also be expected to oversee the management, maintenance, and coordination of the BECE laboratories. The teaching load for the hire is expected to be 3/3 FTE courses per year. Responsibilities also include advising undergraduate students on career choices as well as participating in departmental recruitment events.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely relevant field.
- Experience in teaching chemical engineering courses with demonstrated excellence.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A student-centered clear approach to teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lab management and maintenance.
- Experience with ABET accreditation requirements.
