SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Workforce Education and Development, the incumbent will coordinate the College's Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) programming including: oversight of the HVAC Lab at DCC@Fishkill; equipment used in HVAC programming; close collaboration with credit and credit-free faculty, the Director of Off-Campus Centers, the Coordinator of Mechatronics Programming; and supervision of HVAC Lab staff. The selected individual should expect to have responsibilities that span DCC locations, although the primary workstation will be at DCC@Fishkill.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The role and responsibilities of the Coordinator of HVAC Programming include:
- Teach credit and credit-free courses in HVAC programming;
- Obtain, maintain, and manage relevant industry certifications;
- Implement program development strategies;
- Provide oversight and maintenance of the labs and all equipment for HVAC programming;
- Work with the Office of Instruction & Learning, faculty, the Coordinator of Mechatronics Programming, and the Scheduling Office to build schedules for HVAC programming;
- Assess learning outcomes for students participating in HVAC programming;
- Build networks in the HVAC industry, recruit students, and establish partnerships;
- Foster positive relationships with existing partners;
- Work with college offices to manage complex financial operations and Physical Plant pertaining to HVAC programming;
- Work closely with HVAC instructors and staff;
- Participate in the College's governance committees and related activities;
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Vast knowledge in HVAC, engineering, or related disciplines;
- Demonstrated understanding of the knowledge, skills, and processes needed to select and evaluate curriculum, as well as instructional methods in workforce programs for adult learners;
- Experience supervising instructional staff;
- Excellent computer skills, including a high level of proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation applications;
- Concern for student needs in a demanding academic context, as well as flexibility, patience, and professional integrity;
- Demonstrated ability to work with and support a diverse population of students, instructors, and staff;
- Success at managing a wide array of projects and initiatives and ability to work in a fast-paced work environment;
- Excellent interpersonal communication and project management skills;
- Dedication to ongoing professional development to stay relevant in industry knowledge, training, and coursework.
