Advertised Job SummaryAssistant Professor of Electrical Engineering (Tenure-track)
The Department of Computer Science (CS), Engineering, and Mathematics at the University of South Carolina Aiken seeks applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering to begin on January 1 or August 16, 2026. Our rapidly growing department offers a wide range of bachelor degree programs in CS, Math, and Engineering. The current Engineering programs offered are ABET accredited B. S. programs in Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering. The department is adding a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.), with the first cohort starting in Fall 2026.
Applicants must have a doctorate in electrical engineering or a related field. ABD will be considered with degree conferred by time of appointment. Expertise in power systems and laboratory classrooms is essential, along with strong potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate level using engaged learning strategies appropriate to the discipline and level (normal teaching load is 12 hours per semester). Strong applicants who can convincingly demonstrate that they will complete the degree in time (e.g., by documenting a scheduled defense) will also be considered. Successful candidates must have the qualifications and interests in teaching a wide range of electrical engineering courses and will be expected to develop an active research program that includes mentoring of undergraduate research projects in lab and community settings. Salary is commensurate and competitive with qualifications and experience.
