Salary range: The current salary range for this position is $111,400–$163,200 (9-month academic year salary), however, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions.

Position description
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, invites tenure-track faculty applications in Sustainable Energy Infrastructure. Preference will be given to candidates who are recent Ph.D. graduates, postdocs or Assistant Professors.
About the Position: As demands for energy grow and corresponding environmental impacts intensify, the need for sustainable, transformative, resilient, and financially affordable solutions in energy infrastructure has never been greater. Energy infrastructure lies at the nexus of civil engineering, environmental stewardship, affordability, and societal progress. It includes clean and affordable approaches to energy integration, generation, and storage; management of emissions and wastes; geo-energy and geological systems; food-energy-water systems; and the design of new and modernization of existing infrastructure to meet energy demands sustainably. The related challenges are multifaceted throughout the life cycles of energy infrastructure—requiring expertise in materials, emissions and impact assessment, environmental impact mitigation, systems analysis, and resiliency to hazards and climate extremes. Multidisciplinary research interests are expected.
The Department's leadership in research, education, and professional engagement positions it to cultivate groundbreaking advances that will redefine energy infrastructure and its interactions with society for the 21st century. Faculty are expected to be leaders in research, contribute to existing undergraduate and graduate educational programs in the Department, and develop new and innovative courses. New hires are also expected to collaborate with colleagues in the Department, the College of Engineering, and more broadly on the Berkeley Campus.
