Applications are invited for a faculty appointment within the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering at Western University effective July 1, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful applicant will receive a three-year Limited Term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.
The Department is seeking an energetic and dynamic candidate who will be able to contribute to and complement the Department’s teaching activities in the broad area of Thermofluids engineering, which includes Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, and Heat Transfer. Knowledge of Computational Methods will be considered an asset.
Applicants for this position must have a first degree (B.A.Sc., B.E.Sc., B.Eng. or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related area). The successful candidate will be expected to teach core and elective undergraduate courses in the B.E.Sc. program, and introductory/advanced graduate courses in the professional Master’s (M.Eng.) and graduate research programs. The successful candidate will provide evidence of teaching at the university level and will be expected to teach a diversity of introductory, fundamental or advanced undergraduate and graduate courses. Evidence of proficiency could include student evaluations, student testimonials, peer evaluations or other relevant documentation. The appointee will be expected to participate in the normal administrative, educational, and professional activities of the Department, Faculty, and University. Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario is required for this appointment. Preference will be given to those with engineering experience.
