The Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Industrial EngineeringThe Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Industrial Engineering currently has 26 full-time tenured/tenure-track faculty (7 endowed chairs), 8 full-time non-tenure track faculty, and 1100 undergraduate, 55 M.S., and 65 Ph.D. students, with the doctoral program jointly offered by Southwest Research Institute (SwRI). In addition to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering, the department offers an M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering and an M.S. degree in Advanced Manufacturing and Enterprise Engineering, a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, which is ABET accredited, and a B.S. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Application Information The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses that are part of the Mechanical Engineering and/or Industrial and Systems Engineering curricula. The immediate need is to teach Systems Modeling & Simulation (3 credit hours) and/or Internal Combustion Engines (3 credit hours). The positions will be provided mentorship and onboarding support, and potentially an on-site office based on availability.
Required Qualifications- Candidates should have a conferred M.S. (Ph.D. preferred) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment.
- Evidence of integrating technology into instruction, online and in-person teaching, or using other emerging technologies.
- The successful candidates must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of the University's students.
- Expertise in the profession of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or systems engineering will be considered.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
