Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design (KCEID) UT San Antonio's KCEID is one of the fastest growing Colleges of Engineering in Texas. https://klesse.utsa.edu/ Department of Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering (BECE)The BECE department offers BS degrees in Chemical Engineering (CME) and BME, an MS in Biomedical Technology (BTC), MS and PhD degrees in BME; with last two joint with the School of Medicine, MS and PhD in CME, and MS in Engineering Education. Our programs are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) until 2030 and accredited by ABET until 2029. The department is home for 572 students. Of these, 61 are PhD's and 44 are MS, and 467 undergraduate students.
Salary Range: $83,011 - $85,011 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications

Position SummaryWe seek to fill a position for a fixed term track (FTT) Biomedical Engineering (BME) faculty position at the Assistant Professor of Instruction rank for the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering (BECE) in the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design (KCEID). The candidate is expected to teach a variety of core undergraduate BME classes including but not limited to:
- BME 2103 Physiology for Biomedical Engineering
- BME 3013 Clinical Internship in Biomedical Engineering
- BME 3121 Cellular Biology for Biomedical Engineering Laboratory
- BME 3211 Biomedical Engineering Laboratory I
- BME 3311 Biomedical Engineering Laboratory II
- BME 3711 Biomedical Engineering Laboratory III
- BME 3803 Programming and Introductory AI for Biomedical Engineering
- BME 3813 Machine and Deep Learning Theory to Solve Biomedical Engineering Problems
The candidate is expecting to teach courses in person at the UT San Antonio Academic Campus. The candidate is also expected to mentor undergraduate students, serve on departmental committees, help in active recruiting efforts, and contribute to an overall positive departmental environment.
Required Qualifications- A Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or similar field.
Preferred Qualifications- Undergraduate teaching experience.
- Evidence of integrating technology into instruction, online teaching, or using other emerging technologies.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
