Position Summary:Three Postdoctoral Research Associate positions are available at the University of Idaho in the Institute for Modeling Collaboration and Innovation (IMCI). These postdoctoral researchers will contribute to our modeling community as members of an interdisciplinary team of researchers working in a uniquely collaborative environment.
The Institute for Modeling Collaboration and Innovation (IMCI) is an interdisciplinary, collaborative research program housed at the University of Idaho. IMCI creates an intellectual and physical environment that fosters model-based interdisciplinary research. The IMCI Modeling Core is home to a consortium of postdoctoral fellows who provide modeling expertise for a wide range of projects as integral members of those research teams.
Minimum Qualifications:- Ph.D. by the time of appointment in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering or a related discipline
- Modeling experience demonstrated by publications in the field
- Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working in one of the following areas
- Biomedical applications, social determinants of health or other demographic health areas
- Spatial microsimulation, spatially weighted regression, combinatorial optimization or Bayesian network analysis
- Large language models or machine learning/predictive modeling for longitudinal data analysis
- Strong computer programming skills
- Strong mathematical or statistical skills
- Ability to work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
