The Sullivan School of Business and Technology at Carroll University is accepting applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor position. This position is part of the strategic expansion of the Sullivan School. The Mechanical Engineering degree program will deliver an innovative, market-driven undergraduate curriculum that will complement other degree programs in the university.

Responsibilities: This is a tenure-track teaching position. The Mechanical Engineering faculty member will contribute expertise to course and curriculum development efforts for the Engineering program and teach undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering. The anticipated teaching load is typically 12- to 16-credits each semester over the 9-month appointment. Interest and expertise are needed to teach and develop courses from a broad set of courses related to:
- Statics
- Dynamics
- Kinematics
- Machine Design
- Heat Transfer
- Fulid Mechanics
- Engineering Materials
- Manufacturing Processes
- Control Systems / Mechatronics
In addition, opportunities exist to collaborate with other faculty in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, drone engineering, and computer science with faculty in the Department of Engineering & Technology Sciences. All Carroll University faculty are expected to participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness and remain current in their academic and professional fields. In addition, this position will be involved in service to the school and university through representation and meaningful participation on committees, student recruitment activities, ABET accreditation and assessment activities, and student advising.
Qualifications:- Applicants with an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field preferred, but individuals with an M.S. degree and substantial experience will be considered. Candidates with specialties in all areas of Mechanical Engineering are encouraged to apply.
- Experience as teachers, subject matter experts, and professionals within their career fields preferred.
- Industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of ABET accreditation preferred.
- Experience in curriculum development and course design preferred.
Rank and Salary: This position is a full-time 9-month, tenure-track teaching faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor supporting a wonderful work-life balance or opportunities for private consulting. Candidates who have earned advanced rank at another institution will be considered for an appropriate appointment. Opportunities for summer teaching and project work are available but not guaranteed. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Possible summer and winter stipends may be available depending on qualifications.
